I first joined the Wu-Shu Academy at Rozelle when I was just 16 years old mid-2002. Sadly it was an art which I could not dedicate my time to, with my HSC and advanced mathematics university degree ahead of me. Despite only remaining at the centre for three months, there was not a single week during the nearly nine year absence afterwards whereby I did not think of my Kung-Fu; I really missed it. It changed the way I thought about my movements, my strength, my balance, and my life in general.
In 2011, I wanted to lose weight, get fit and strong, and learn self defence, and that’s exactly what happened. My body was instantly reminded of the adrenaline and power of Wu-Shu, and I have stayed here ever since.
Over time I had tried different schools of Kung-Fu, different forms of martial arts and even different types of exercise, but nothing can take me away from the Wu-Shu Academy. The attention to detail, absolute care and the purity of the method of teaching of the trainers is unparalleled; they always cater for all abilities, and have seemingly limitless patience for those like myself who sometimes repeatedly struggle with some of the challenging techniques. I’ve always felt welcome and cared for in many ways.
In summary: Wu-Shu academy at Rozelle provides a holistically empowering life-changing experience, better than anything else you could imagine!
